You Are Not Alone....

 Two posts in one day means I'm making progress on my TBR list!! Next up:

I'm normally not eager to read co-written books but these two authors, Hendricks and Pekkanen, break the mold! I've read their first two books and the suspense and thriller element is amazing! 

If you get a chance to pick these up, please do! You will not regret it! 

"You Are Not Alone" is about Shay Miller who is desperate to belong and when she meets two sisters, she may finally have the chance. But what must she do to belong? I'm so excited to see what plot twists Hendricks and Pekkanen have in store! 

Saying goodbye to old friends....

 

Just finished "Troubles in Paradise", the third installment in the "Paradise" series. Sitting in the living room reading this with the sound of the ocean (thanks, Prime Video!) ALMOST made me believe I was anywhere but my house, but not so lucky. 

Ending this trilogy, saying goodbye to the Steele family, is bittersweet. While the book was wonderful and highlighted all of the famous locations in the Caribbean, I will miss this series. Hilderbrand's description of the sounds, sites, and sunsets would make anyone feel as though they were sitting on the deck of a villa (thanks Baker Steele!) and drinking a painkiller (Cash Steele makes the best, I hear!). Or taking a ride on the Mississippi with Captain Huck and Irene and while I do not fish, I wouldn't mind watching! 

When Hurricane Irma hit in 2017 (in the book Hilderbrand calls the hurricane Inga after the '69 hurricane that hit St. John) it destroyed the areas in this trilogy; Antigua, Barbuda, and Saint Martin. This series appears to be a love letter to the places that Hilderbrand loved to visit and I'm so glad it is! 

Definitely consider adding this series to your summer reading list! Stay tuned for the next read later today! 

Troubles in Paradise.....

 So here's the deal: 

40-ish something gal with too much time on her hands. I'm immunocompromised (thanks COVID-19) and so I'm not really leaving the house now. I start a new job in a few weeks but until then, or maybe I keep this up, I'm knocking out as much of my TBR shelf as I can! And will be blogging about it here, in case anyone is interested! 

First up, "Troubles in Paradise" by Elin Hilderbrand. This is the 3rd book in the "Paradise" trilogy and I highly recommend it! Set in the Caribbean, this trilogy follows a wife who discovers her husband is not what he seems. We have a spouse living a double life, murder, greed, and all set in paradise. What's not to like?!?! Plus, it's the perfect summer read!
